My Background
Apprentice Electrician To Business Owner
I started my career in 1988 as an apprentice electrician, working for PEME a specialised engineering firm. After gaining my MBA in business administration, and exploring new business opportunities, in 1999, I decided to return back to the company where I completed my apprenticeship but this time to be an area manager.
In 2005, along with 3 other managers, I put in a proposal to buy the company. My offer was successful and I started my journey as a business owner!
Growing a business
6 Year of Struggle Then £2 Million in Profit
Even though I had an MBA, the first 6 years of my journey were not easy. I learnt some very hard lessons, and everything took far longer than it could have.
It wasn't until the seventh year of business, when we had put the right systems in place, that I saw the business really take off. We then went from strength to strength signing bigger clients, larger contracts, and earning a turnover that grew from £6.6M to £21M with the annual profits increasing from £145K to £2M.
In 2017, as a result of our company’s success, my team was approached by a private equity firm with an offer we couldn’t refuse!
In 2018, I realised that staying with the company was no longer the right thing for me. I wanted to do something more meaningful with my life, and work in a job where I felt truly fulfilled.

My past experiences have given me amazing insights into the business world, and I have so much knowledge that I want to share with other ambitious business owners. This is why I am now a certified business coach.
I understand exactly how it feels to be the busy MD who knows what they want but isn’t sure how to achieve it. Or is frustrated because of staff problems, or is worried because sales aren't consistent and clients aren't loyal.
Furthermore, I know how lonely it can be. Being unable to discuss your ideas with someone who really gets the pressure you’re under or the problems you face, can be a major challenge in your business journey. Which is why I can be that confidential sounding board you need.
